What is an ECS Member Article Pack?
An ECS Member Article Pack is a benefit of membership in ECS. As an ECS member, you have access to the entire ECS Digital Library and may download 100 full-text articles from either the Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES), Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters (JES), ECS Transactions (ECST), or any combination of these titles. You have 12 months from the date your membership becomes effective to download your 100 articles.
[ back to top ]How do I download articles to my Article Pack?
You can begin your research by browsing or searching the publications in the ECS Digital Library. The prompt for entering your ECS Digital Library username and password will appear after clicking on any of the full-text options (e.g., HTML, PDF) available for an article in JES, ESL, or ECST. Once you sign in, the article will open on-screen in the chosen format. At the same time, a PDF version is automatically saved into your Article Pack account for future access and your account is debited for the download.
[ back to top ]Will I be charged (debited) for FREE articles?
No. You will not be charged for FREE articles.
[ back to top ]How can I monitor my download history and check to see how many downloads I have left?
To view your download history or to check to see how many downloads are remaining in your account, login to the ECS Article Pack Account Management Center using your ECS Digital Library username and password. The following information is provided:
- The articles in your download history are listed by the date and time they were downloaded.
- Each title in the list is linked to the article abstract.
- Your download total and remaining downloads are indicated toward the top of the page.
The Account Managment Center also features on-screen warnings to alert you when you have 20, then 10, then zero downloads remaining. These on-screen alerts are complemented by e-mail notifications, all designed to keep you informed of the status of your account.
[ back to top ]How much time do I have to download my articles?
You may download your 100 articles over the course of a 12-month period beginning the date your ECS membership becomes effective. Rights to download new articles cease in two cases: 1) all 100 articles have been downloaded, or 2) the 12-month period has elapsed. If you exhaust all your downloads prior to the end of the 12-month period, you will still be able to view previously downloaded articles and access your account summary until the end of the 12-month term.
[ back to top ]How do I refill my ECS Member Article Pack?
Your article pack will be refilled with 100 downloads when you renew your membership. You will receive email notification from ECS when your renewal is due. If you need to refill your account before membership renewal is an option, you should contact ECS at publications@electrochem.org.
